Case Study: Clinical Presentation
Claire Hopkins is a 36 year old female who fractured her leg, due to extensive damage requiring surgery she has been inactive for the past six months. During this time most of her meals were delivered by a company that prepares prepacked meals, though she did have some other groceries delivered for snacks. While inactive she gained weight so has joined a walking group to regain some of her fitness and aid in weight loss, she is finding this challenging as she is often hungry and snacking. Despite drinking the recommended 2 litres of water daily, including when she is walking, she is still thirsty most of the time and consequently urinating frequently. Claire is often tired and fatigued, upon mentioning this to her general practitioner at a routine visit he decides to do some tests to determine why.
