Select a piece of visual art, a poem, a play, a piece of music, or a film that appropriates Inferno or Purgatory (e.g. What Dreams May Come, Seven, Hannibal, Notre Musique, Dante’s Inferno-see Richard Lansing’s Dante Encyclopedia for a full list, or you may find another through your own research). For whichever option you choose, the assignment is to explore the ways in which the Divine Comedy influenced the piece.
