Is self-paced online learning a viable teaching strategy for students?
The topic is to solve the problem for increasing low first course grades at an online high school.
Approach 1: Semi-structured interviews
The first approach will be semi-structured interviews with six participants. The
participants will be members of the Instructional Design and Data and Analytics
departments.
The second approach will be a quantitative survey using the survey integration
within the D2L Brightspace platform. The participants will be a minimum of 15 students selected from various grades of online high school students.
The questions must also have explanations for example:

The question aimed to determine the perceptions that the students had when it came to the effectiveness of self-paced online learning to deliver targeted instructions. Students are the recipients of different educational strategies, which makes their input regarding the self-paced teaching strategy valuable. The response from the students will be credible and inform the research topic.
