Is a supply chain generic and transferable to any company or industry?
Managing Consumer Goods
According to Blanchard (2010), a supply chain is unique to an organization and although there are similarities, using a one size fits all approach will not be successful. Every organization has a unique supply chain, and although there can be best practices for the industry, there needs to be policies and procedures that address the unique features of the organization’s supply chain. In closing, if the processes are not developed to support the organization and the organization does not integrate contracts, logistics, and reverse logistics the organization will not have a successful supply chain.
