Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:

1) Examine historical events,processes,and phenomena from a global perspective that emphasises connections across time and space

2) Understand how ideologies shape interpretatons of the past and representations of peoples/cultures;

3) Make use of theretical frameworks and concepts to interrogate and problematise Western/Euoropean approaches to historical study;

4) Reflect on their own positionality and understand the assumptions that underlie their interpretations of historical events, processes, and phenomena.

5) Display clarity, accuracy and fluency in written expression that is appropriate to Level Four and demonstrated through their performance in the coursework assignment and written examination;

6) Skilfully deploy appropriate materials in constructing coherent, logical and evidenced based answers to set questions.
