For this assessment you will be required to write a position paper on your selected topic and also a letter of advocacy which must be presented into a community forum. We will be using the BEDEC as our community forum.
The position paper must:
Assess, compare and evaluate your selected topic in promoting social justice and equity.
Discuss the importance of the issue to early childhood education and care.
Describe critical reflections of the challenges, educators and teachers face with their personal biases towards the topic.
Identify advocacy strategies for addressing the issue in an early childhood service in a professional, ethical manner.
Show the application of teaching strategies and learning opportunities for early childhood settings and teaching.
Provide recommendations for future advocacy practices to promote positive social change on your topic for early childhood.
