FOR THE CLASS PROJECT:
The class project will focus on finding Direct Support Professionals .
Recruitment is currently extremely difficult for several reasons: 1. Unemployment is low; 2. The pay per hour is at or slightly above minimum wage; 3. And, the responsibilities of DSPs and care givers continue to grow.
Your task is to create creative tools to attract, recruit, and retain qualified DSPs for individuals with disabilities who are aging.
See each element to include in your Project. Your submission will include an advertisement, (A) a page or so outlining the interview questions (B), and an outline ©; and references or other support materials (D).
A) Write an appealing job advertisement; list qualifications and the job title. Try to make the advertisement as attractive as possible. Feel free to use graphics and/or multiple text and different colors. Look on the Internet for ideas that create high interest in job postings.
B) Then, write 10 “interview questions.” Include “behavioral interview questions.”
C) Develop an “strategic outline” of how you may include people with disabilities who are aging in the interview process. Please think about how to include people who have significant challenges as well as people who could more easily attend.
D)Include graphs and links to interesting web sites you’ve found. It will make your project more interesting.
Have fun with this!! It should be interesting and demonstrate the important factors you uncovered.
