Kantian Ethics
Overview: The purpose of the Signature Assignment is to connect the material from our course to your everyday life. Applying what we are learning in class to your experiences makes new pathways immediately rewarding and creates a permanent connection to see the world in a new way.
Writing prompt: Using the language of sociology, describe one thing you learned in this course that was most important to you using one of the three sociological perspectives. Describe how your view of this issue changed and how it might change for you or others in the future. Explain how everyday social life impacts this issue.
Requirements/Grading
The essay must be at least 750 and no more than 1,000 words.
Format should be a 12-point font and double-spaced.
The essay must use one of the three sociological perspectives (Functionalism, Symbolic Interactionism, or Conflict Theory).
The essay must contain at least three (3) concepts from the course.
Grading will be based on:
1. selection of course element,
2. use of sociological perspective,
3. quality of the application of concepts,
4. connection to everyday life,
5. technical writing.
