1) Identify all the major sensors / probes that are found on a modern aircraft engine.
● List each sensor / probe and give a brief description of its function.
● Describe in your own words, the purpose of each sensor / probe, and how these are connected to allow the engineer to assess the serviceability and need for preventative maintenance.
2) One of the main control systems on a GTE, is the FADEC.
● Provide a suitable example of a FADEC system through literature survey, describe its function and how this is used by the engineer to determine the serviceability of an engine.
● What other modern system is used on a civilian aircraft engine to monitor all the engine parameters. Explain in your own words, how this works and what are the advantages of your chosen system.
