ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
LO 1 Identify a specific project area for investigation that is relevant to current health
and social care practice.
(a) Choose an area for research within the defined health and social care topic.
(b) State the Aim of your research to define the scope of the project. Identify two Objectives to allow you to address the Aim. These should allow the focus area to be investigated using a literature review as the research method .
Identify, select and justify the use of appropriate techniques, methods and strategies to gather relevant data and evidence to investigate the project topic.
(a) Demonstrate the use of relevant research methods and strategies to investigate the topic and the question .
(b) Collate a range of appropriate data and evidence to allow for effective investigation of the topic focus . Critically appraise and evaluate the evidence in relation to the project topic to draw relevant conclusions.
(a) Analyse and critique the quality of the sources you have used .
(b) Draw conclusions about the quality of the source and about the quality and relevance of the information produced .
Present and discuss research findings, justifying their relevance in developing or advancing current health and social practice within the scope of the topic.
(a) Identify and discuss the key findings from your research .
(b) Say how these findings relate to an area of practice or service provision.
(c) Make a recommendation for a change that would have a positive impact on professional practice or service delivery in the area you have studied.
