Consult the sources you compiled during your literature review and the information you reported in your PowerPoint presentation. Look over your notes from your expert interview. Decide whether you have enough information (and the best information) to create a comprehensive analysis of this topic. Decide if you have found information to answer all of your questions. If not, remember that research is recursive, and continue searching for, evaluating, and annotating sources until you feel you have a thorough understanding of the topic.
Pre-Write: Who are your stakeholders? Identify at least four specific stakeholders or stakeholder groups. What are their values? Why do they think this issue is important? What do they have to gain or lose? What is their goal regarding your topic? How are their positions similar or different from one another? Look at this topic from their various perspectives and examine what these voices have to say.
Write: Write an essay where you carefully and thoughtfully analyze this topic through the viewpoints of the stakeholders involved.

Introduction: In your introduction you should give a thorough overview of the topic. Give background information, history, and context to the issue. Identify the main points of conflict or debate. Finally, identify the stakeholders you will discuss in the body paragraphs.
Body: Explain the stakeholders and their positions. Devote at least one paragraph to each stakeholder’s position. Explain who they are, what they have at stake, and why the topic is significant to them.
Body: Analyze the stakeholders. How are the stakeholders’ positions similar and different? What are the connections between the stakeholders? Why are they similar and different? What makes this topic so complex?

Describe your own sense of identity at the end of high school. How has your sense of identity changed since high school?

Test 2

Your exam should be between 600-750 words, double spaced.

Read the following article about James Marcia
https://socialsci.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Early_Childhood_Education/Book%3A_Child_Growth_and_Development_(Paris_Ricardo_Rymond_and_Johnson)/15%3A_Adolescence_-_Social_Emotional_Development/15.02%3A_James_Marcia__Theory_of_Identity_Development
Consider how Marcia’s theory connects to Erikson’s most famous adolescent stage, Identity versus Role Confusion.

Erikson agreed that the concept of identity development was not exactly easy to pin down, and
although he saw it as connected to the idea of role development; he saw it as greater than that.
The development begins in early adolescence, when the child stands outside of him- or herself and
starts to ask the question: who am I? which up to then s/he took for granted. In exploring this
question, the child becomes aware of playing different roles (e.g., that of the student rather than
a teacher; that of sibling or child rather than a parent; that of the employee rather than employer). This
questioning, Erikson argued, is most intense during adolescence, but questions of identity do
continue throughout one’s life.

Think back on your life in high school. What roles did you play in your family? In your school? In your outside life? Were you comfortable in those roles? Were you comfortable recognizing that you actually played a number of different roles? How did you feel when your roles were in conflict (e.g., you were a student in school; but you may also have been a teacher in some other setting). To what extent did these roles contribute to your sense of identity? As you reflect upon the development of your identity, carefully study and think about the four aspects of identity formation described in the article about James Marcia, namely:

Identity Achievement
Identity Foreclosure
Identity Moratorium
Identity Diffusion

After having considered all of the above, write your essay following this outline:

Define identity and explain how it differs from the specific roles you played.

Describe your own sense of identity at the end of high school.

How has your sense of identity changed since high school?

Consider Marcia’s 4 aspects of identify formation (above).

Then write a brief paragraph for each of Marcia’s phases, describing your personal experience.
For each aspect, pick whichever one of the following facets of your identity that most readily illustrates it.

o career/education
o religion
o political beliefs
o sexual orientation
o gender identity
o character
Finally, can you identify from the list above which aspects of your identity were most strongly formed by the end of high school and which ones were not fully informed until later (presumably during the stage of emerging adulthood)?

What aspect of New Zealand culture or society is represented?

We were to choose an aspect of New Zealand culture/society that is represented in the media. I chose “That men are pressured to be ‘manly’ cause of the flawed masculinity culture within New Zealand.”

For the introduction here are questions to answer:

What aspect of New Zealand culture or society is represented?

What factors surround/influence the representation?

What links the representation to New Zealand society?

What is the impact of the representation and on whom – i.e. what angle are you using?

For each paragraph, you must talk about a primary text and what the representation is and how it is shown.
-For my first primary text (paragraph 1) chose the film ‘Savage’ which Represents the amount of pressure put on males in New Zealand to fit the traditional ‘masculine’ role when growing up and in adulthood.

For my second primary text (Paragraph 2) have chosen an article from stuff that represents how males are told from a young age to not be emotional because of the hyper-masculine culture in NZ (https://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff-nation/17243898/Ditch-the-man-up-mentality)

For my third primary text (paragraph 3) have chosen another article from stuff that represents what many New Zealanders believe as being masculine and how this traditional kiwi stereotype should not be what masculine is (https://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/life/83966192/new-zealands-flawed-ideal-of-masculinity#:~:text=Men%20take%20the%20Kiwi%20’she,doesn’t%20make%20it%20okay.&text=If%20you’re%20male%20and,probably%20continued%20into%20your%20adulthood.)

The structure of the essay should look something like this.
Introduction-
Representation in Primary media text 1-
Representation in Primary media text 2-
Representation in Primary media text 3-
Impact/significance of representation-
conclusion-

What are the issues that people most tend to debate? How can you use or create visual data or visual rhetoric to help your readers understand these issues?

Causes of Child Labor

Instructions

Research: Begin with the research and visuals you compiled in Module 2. Note where you need more information to understand the major issues within this topic, and find, evaluate, and annotate credible resources that help you thoroughly understand the topic. Access the CCCOnline Library Databases to find academic sources.

Think: What are the main issues within your topic? What are the problems that need solving? What are the issues that people most tend to debate? How can you use or create visual data or visual rhetoric to help your readers understand these issues?

Write: Create a PowerPoint presentation of the main issues or ideas of your topic. Create an introductory slide, 5-6 slides to develop your discussion of the main issues, and a Works Cited slide. Each slide should incorporate visual elements (e.g., pictures, graphs, charts, infographics, formatting, etc.) and should balance those visuals with enough text to make meaning. Be sure your visual elements help convey something important about the issues within your topic. Your presentation should give a clear, complete picture of the topic. Need help?

Will send the images I used in Module 2. Would like more images that are graphs using information from the paper in the related order as well.

Is the background of the article properly identified?; do the article’s major claims make sense, and are they well supported with evidence and argument?

Problem (1 page)

In this final section of the exercise, I want you to identify one problem with the article, that is, some aspect of the research that you find questionable in some way.

Consider questions such as: does the article address a truly important question?; is the background of the article properly identified?; do the article’s major claims make sense, and are they well supported with evidence and argument?; do the article’s conclusions follow logically from its major claims and arguments.
