LITERATURE AND DATA ANALYSIS- PAPER 2
Overview of Research
Single parents and their children often have poor health and poor social results. From the 1960s, the number of children staying with single parents, specifically mothers, has doubled. According to the Census Bureau , single mothers represented 30% of families with children in the United States. In the US, the most common arrangement is for a child to live with both its parents, but in case of divorce or separation, single mothers end up taking the children’s full custody.
ACA was enacted in 2010. It increased health insurance to the citizens, restricted rescinding insurance plans, and restricted the enforcement of yearly and lifetime deadlines on health advantages. ACA also brought about revenue-related premiums and cost-sharing deductions and called coverage for vital healthcare. Despite the ACA enactment, the initiative failed to deliver its promises to families. To date, a significant number of Americans are straining to cater to their healthcare needs out-of-pocket. Therefore, the research question for this paper is;

Where will residents go when the real estate market soars, making homes unaffordable, and Airbnbs drive residents out of their neighborhoods? A monetary infusion could help the island get out of debt, but at what cost and sacrifice? Should there be a moratorium on investors purchasing real estate?

In the aftermath of natural disasters, greed and capitalism empower affluent elites to
exploit and overrun these areas, which are especially prone to land grabs and other disasters. These villages and their residents have very little in the way of assistance,
readily available to them.

In contrast, Governor Pedro Pierluisi, has provided tax breaks to wealthy investors and capitalists, but native-born Puerto Ricans are not eligible for these perks. Rather, Puerto Ricans have been sacrificed and exploited, and the governor, as well as the US federal government, have encouraged and supported the subjugation of the people and the territory for economic gain.

Where will residents go when the real estate market soars, making homes unaffordable, and Airbnbs drive residents out of their neighborhoods? A monetary infusion could help the island get out of debt, but at what cost and sacrifice? Should there be a moratorium on investors purchasing real estate?

While these land grabs originated in urban areas such as the capital city of San Juan, Rincón, and Dorado, they have already moved to rural areas, displacing residents in these remote, isolated areas as well.
