Critically discuss the factors that formulate a case for one group of offenders, the circumstances under which the offender is not capable to stand a trial and how to avoid malingering.
Discuss how you would interpret the following bivariate table for an imaginary study comparing the effectiveness of two interventions aimed at preventing future child abuse among high-risk parents.
Table X: Number of Parents Who Were and Were Not Found to Have Committed Future Abuse, by Type of Intervention.
TYPE OF INTERVENTION
OUTCOME INTERVENTION A INTERVENTION B
Abuse 10 10
No Abuse 30 20
TOTAL 40 30
Explain why you would want to employ inferential statistics to further analyze the data.
Present an illustration to understand effect size and its representations.
Assignment: Chapter 17 Case Study: Effect of Stress on Performance
Case Study: A company conducted a survey to identify the effect of stress on performance. Three hundred candidates were selected. Participants were of the age group 30–45, and of both genders. The nature of work varied from managerial to administrative to operative to sales. Work timings were from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.; however, some roles would require duties outside of the office. Based on the designation, salaries varied as well from a range of USD 15,000 to 50,000 per annum.
Identify from the above narrative the data that can be converted to numerals and codes for analysis.
What would be the most ideal form of analysis—Univariate, Bivariate, or Multivariate? Justify.
Identify variables that can be assessed using the levels of measurement.
Julie uses heroin for her reported chronic pain. She states that if she does not take something for her pain, she becomes depressed and suicidal. She has agreed to see a counselor. She has also stated that she does not know anything about her treatment options but is willing to try any method to overcome her addiction and depression.

Self-esteem is the evaluation of our self-concept. We often think that high self-esteem is beneficial and although it often is, there is a dark side. When high self-esteem mixes with narcissism it can be an issue. An interesting study done by Bushman & Baumeister (1998) demonstrates how these individuals react to insult (See below). The results suggest that contrary to our beliefs these individuals aren’t suffering from low self-esteem, and they are hiding it with an over-inflated sense of self. They evaluate themselves highly and are narcissistic. What do you believe are the consequences based on the findings for society? Do you think our focus on self (selfies, social media) is increasing narcissism? What could we do to combat the rising narcissism?

What steps will you need to take independently from your degree program in order to complete any licensure or certification goals you have?
5. Considering the rise of technology in modern society, evaluate how technology might affect your clinical practice, assist you in creating innovative solutions, and optimize your performance.
6. State your ultimate goal in your career trajectory. Based on what you learned in Unit 2, discuss a timeline of how you will meet this goal. What kind of training and certifications would be helpful? What kind of resources in your state will you need to consider? Summarize your future professional development steps and your timeline to complete them.
