What do you agree/disagree with? Why? What conclusions can you draw from your reading? Was the research conducted adequately? How could methodology be improved?

A page or so that clearly and concisely describes the topic of your paper, any relevant statistics, the questions you will investigate, and the various points of view or differing explanations proposed in the scientific articles on which you are basing your paper. You may consult several sources for the introduction, and are strongly encouraged to include a cross-national statistic or diversity focus.

– (b) Research. This is the core of the paper that must include a discussion of the scientific evidence you have reviewed. Remember, the research gathered from two journal articles is presented in this section. It is important that you provide your understanding of the research work that has been conducted. In other words, paraphrase in your own words and not rely on quotes.
To effectively use the contents of the journal articles to support your ideas, be sure to clearly describe (1) the topic of the research being reported, (2) the research methodology , (3) the conclusions and questions that the study raised.

– (c) Evaluation. This section is primarily based on your own opinions and ideas, based on the research you have read and various theoretical perspectives that may be relevant (1-2 pages). In other words, critique the journal articles. What do you agree/disagree with? Why? What conclusions can you draw from your reading? Was the research conducted adequately? How could methodology be improved? What questions related to your topic remain unanswered? What theoretical perspective addresses this topic
suitably?

Explain the behavior being studied – what is the thing this study is looking at? What do we already know about this behavior or ability?

Make sure to pick a suggested theory in the file uploaded below. Also make sure to cite the sources correctly and DO NOT use a website as a source. Use a peer reviewed article or something of the sort, and cite accordingly in APA style. There are 3 different sections to categorize by, please do so according to the file uploaded, and make sure to respond to the 3 numbered questions shown at the end of each description of the section.

For the first section questions to respond to are, 1. Overview of the theory – what is the main point, what is some of the terminology used?
2. How does the theory deal with abilities at different ages and how does it account for change over time? That is, why are we talking about this as a theory of development ?
3. What is one positive aspect of the theory, or one thing the theory accounts for that is important and useful? What is one negative aspect of the theory, or one critique of the theory, something it doesn’t do or can’t account for? For section 2 the questions are, 1. Explain the behavior being studied – what is the thing this study is looking at? What do we already know about this behavior or ability?
2. Explain the study in detail. What is this specific study looking at? What is their hypothesis  and what is their methodology? Give the independent and dependent variables.
3. Explain the findings. Discuss both the raw results , as well as the general findings and conclusion.

4. Create a take-home message and why these results are important and relevant for a) understanding the behavior at hand generally, and b) for development and the general population/outside this class. For the last and final section 3, the questions are, 1. Answer the question – does this theory explain the behavior/study? It does not matter which side you take as long as you support your answer. Do not argue for both sides – pick either yes or no.

Is there a sufficient explanation as to why the topic warrants study? Did the authors do a sufficient job explaining the topic and attempting to answer their research question(s)?

Research Article Critique

The goal of this assignment is to critically evaluate two research articles. Since knowledge of adulthood and aging is based on research, potential clinicians need to learn to evaluate research articles with a critical eye. The following assignment is one step toward that process. Your task is to find two scholarly, empirical  journal articles through the library databases and evaluate them using the criteria below. The articles should be related to a topic that was covered in class. Each of the two articles that you select should describe a research study investigating a similar topic .

Summarize article

What is/are the research question(s)?

What is the purpose of the research?

Who participated and what research design was used?

Description of sample/methods/type of research design

What information is included about data integrity?

Validity/reliability of data

Description of main points supported by evidence from the article

Were significant results found in areas of concern?

Description of conclusion and future research directions

Your opinions

How well did the authors accomplish their goals?

Is there a sufficient explanation as to why the topic warrants study?

Did the authors do a sufficient job explaining the topic and attempting to answer their research question(s)?

Are the conclusions valid based on the evidence provided?

Sample size/research design/methods

All papers should be typed and double spaced and conform to APA style.

Describe in general the mock therapy session you conducted and evaluate how well you employed the four basic micro-counseling skills required in the assignment.

Person-Centered Counseling

State in the introduction of the paper that you played the role of a therapist and that your helper played the role of a client.
Next, explain in your paper the problem that the person playing the role of the client made up to discuss in the role play. This disclosure statement must be included to demonstrate your understanding and ability to apply some elements of the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct and to earn any credit for this assignment.
Describe in general the mock therapy session you conducted and evaluate how well you employed the four basic micro-counseling skills required in the assignment. Discuss what seemed to work well in this session. Share any difficulties or challenges you noticed while conducting the session.
Finally, summarize in one paragraph the key point(s) that you will remember about this exercise.
To successfully complete this assignment, your paper must meet the following requirements:

Will you make your date available on OSF? How will you make sure your analyses are replicable and available? What other information will you make openly available?

Interoception and Adherence to Medication for Chronic Ilnesses

Ethics assignment
1) What are the risks associated with your research or review and how will you manage the risks?
Potential topics to include:
What are the risks?
How will you manage the risks?
Does the study involve any vulnerable populations?
How will you manage consent and withdrawal?
If it is a systematic review, how will you make sure it follows the gold standard.
2) How will you make sure that your data, analyses and results are replicable and openly available? If not possible, please explain why data and analyses will not be made available.
Potential topics to include:
Why is it important that data and analyses are replicable and openly available?
Will you make your date available on OSF?
How will you make sure your analyses are replicable and available?
What other information will you make openly available?

How did they use the theory to underpin it? Did they do what they said they did? Was the theory applied correctly? Was the intervention effective and is that due to the theory?

HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY CRITICAL ESSAY – Critically evaluate the design and efficacy of the intervention study and application of the theory to the intervention.

Find one published paper that presents one Health Psychology intervention study. The paper should present an intervention study where the intervention design is underpinned by Health Psychology theory and the target population must be have a chronic condition.

Critique the intervention, not just the study, – how did they use the theory to underpin it? Did they do what they said they did? Was the theory applied correctly? Was the intervention effective and is that due to the theory?

You also critique the study they used to test the intervention but make sure you critique the way the intervention was designed and how the theory was applied.

Are criminals born or made?As there is SO much information, this assignment will be in an annotated bibliography format.

Psychology Profiling Serial Crimes

In this paper, you are to address this question: Are criminals born or made?As there is SO much information, this assignment will be in an annotated bibliography format. Find and summarize 6 articles; 3 that discuss biological/nature and 3 discussing environmental/nurture causes. These will follow APA requirements, with one exception.

References are alphabetized within each section, not overall. In other words, your paper will be divided into two sections with three alphabetized references/summaries in each section  6 total references. I’m also interested in your overall opinion. Therefore, create a third section titled “Opinion” and write a paragraph on your own thoughts/ideas.
