Summarize and explain what the topic is that you are going to write about.

False Confessions and How they Occur

Because we want you to be prepared to communicate scientific findings to a wide variety of audiences, we want you to write these essays so that the general public could understand them. For each of your essays, here is what we would like to see you do:
Each essay should be written in APA format, particularly with respect to the way you cite and reference articles.
Imagine that a coworker, supervisor, or client asked you to report on and make policy recommendations about a forensic psychology issue. You should think of your essay as a report that you might write for this purpose.
o Example: A law enforcement agency wants to know what the current research says about how to conduct eyewitness lineups. You would conduct a literature search on recent papers that discuss, for example, whether possible suspects should be presented one-at-a-time or all-at-once. After reading those articles, you would in theory have an idea of what way is best. So you summarize all of that research and recommend what you then conclude is the best way to conduct the lineups.
Each essay should start with an overview of the topic. Summarize and explain what the topic is that you are going to write about.
Next, you should summarize the articles that we provided to you for your chosen topic. What did each article set out to learn? What did they do? What did they find? What conclusions did they make? Again, be sure to try and communicate this to a non-technical audience.

The Century of Self

This is a psychology based reaction paper based on the documentary “The Century of Self” by Adam Curtis which is available for free on YouTube.

Overall Structure of a Reaction Paper:

A reaction paper consists of four main parts:

1. Introduction.
2. Body

3. Conclusion .

4. List of citations and sources

Guide to Writing the Paper:

1. The first part of your paper should contain information on the topic. You need to write down the main ideas and highlight the main points of the film. You can use direct quotations if needed. Avoid your personal opinion in this section. You should write at least three-four sentences about the original film and close the introduction section with your thesis, which will be discussed later in the paper. Make sure your statement is brief and straight to the point, because you will need to get back to it over and over again throughout your paper.

2. The second part should contain your personal thoughts on the subject and where the real work begins. Focus on a main problem or address all of them and describe your opinion. Explain how the material can relate to the modern world, to society or separate individuals. Back your statements with sources and make conclusions whether you support the author/thesis of the film or not. You need to write down your thoughts on the main ideas of the film backed with appropriate quotes and sources. Remember to stick to the original film and always get back to it, while providing your personal thoughts. However, you are free to add theoretical information to support your ideas. This section is crucial and should contain a thorough analysis of the obtained data.

3. Conclusions should be brief and contain information on your article and main ideas, which were shaped throughout the work. You can also refer to the target audience and the impact these conclusions may have on the society. The list of citations should contain a brief but structured information on the sources, used in your work.

Sample Service Plan

Use the S.M.A.R.T. goals that you wrote in this week’s discussion post as the basis for a hypothetical case plan for Hanna. Use the Sample Service Plan to create a short service plan using Hanna’s presenting problem and the goals to remove her barriers to treatment. Remember to base the goals on her strengths. Then, do some research to find at least three agencies in your local area that could provide these services.

Part II
