Coursework for 2021/22
Overview
The Coursework Portfolio is a body of work involving a mix of collaborative and Produce a range of content that can be reviewed formatively and assessed summatively. These tasks will involve laboratory practicals, digital case studies, and workshops that will generate content for assessment.
Formative Sessions
The first two practicals introduce you to the core observational tools of the modern diagnostic laboratory and help you to observe, describe and report your observations scientifically. These sessions are not assessed, but they are providing you with important skills for the later assessed components.
Summative Assessment
In P3 you will be using an immunohistochemical technique to demonstrate the presence and histological distribution of keratins in selected tissues. The practical will be assessed by critical evaluation of the results presented as a figure with commentary.
The two case studies, one each for Cellular Pathology and Haematopathology be rooted in the cognate lectures, practicals, and workshops. In both case you will know the diagnosis but you will be asked to discuss aspects of the laboratory diagnostic workflow and underlying pathobiology.

Briefly analyze and improvement changes? Defend your answer.

Data Utilization and Presentation

Understanding and identifying when, based on data, to utilize particular tools is essential to the quality management and performance improvement processes. For this project you will create a brief scenario including the type and display of data to effectively and appropriately utilize the tools listed below. You will then create a power point presentation and include the following information for each listed tool:
Briefly analyze and improvement changes? Defend your answer.
Tools
bar graph
pie chart
histogram
line chart
Pareto chart
Place your finished work in a PowerPoint presentation with a Title slide, 1-2 slides for each scenario/tool, and a reference slide.
You can be very creative with this project. Use sets of data from the book or make up your own. Create a scenario around the data and describe it. Select the appropriate tool for display.
