Discuss what types of work-related musculoskeletal disorders  could be assumed to occur from overuse of the tool. And finally, what would you do to make it better for you to use in your workspace?

Choose a hand tool that is most frequently used in your work area or an area you are familiar with. Describe the history of the tool and how it came to be the most frequently used. Show photos of previous versions of said tool and what it looks like
today. Forecast what the tool could look like 10, 20, or 30 years into the future. Discuss what types of work-related musculoskeletal disorders  could be assumed to occur from overuse of the tool. And finally, what would you do to make it better for you to use in your workspace?
The total number of content slides should be 10. Make the PowerPoint presentation interesting and engaging for the audience members who are going to attend your presentation. A title slide and reference slide should be included, but they

Parent Newsletter
Imagine that you are the occupational therapist in a school-based setting working with children. You have decided to develop and distribute a monthly, 2-page newsletter. You want to communicate broadly with the parents as a whole but also with them individually. As an occupational therapist, remember that you want to facilitate all children’s participation in everyday activities, including school / academic competency, and promote their overall health and well-being! You must use reliable references to support some of the content in your newsletter.

Newsletter Instructions
1. Identify the classroom level(s) for your newsletter. Clearly state this at the top of your newsletter. Identify yourself and your title as the occupational therapist.

2. Select a theme around which you will plan and develop your newsletter. Although you need to explain occupational therapy to the parents, you must go beyond just explaining the basics about occupational therapy. Remember that you must write this from an occupational therapy perspective and keep your audience, parents, in mind.

3. Develop a creative but professional title for the newsletter.

4. Format your newsletter in columns/rows such as those found in a typical newspaper. You can do this using a template or develop your own formatting, or what you learned from our guest speaker, Katie.

5. Sections: You can include sections that are monthly features as well as areas specific to this themed newsletter .

Use references for factual information and the statements of what each section is meant to “enhance” for the parents and children. Be sure to state this in the newsletter itself; do not use Occupational Therapy jargon…remember to “write to the audience!” Write this in your own words and do not use direct quotes. Provide a list of references on a separate slide.

Discussion on Digital Divide

According to many, the digital world is being divided into ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’ – between those that have access and can use a computer and the Internet, and those that do not have such access.

Some believe that this creates serious ethical implications and that there is a moral obligation to do something about the disparity; the ‘have nots’ may well feel discriminated against or feel ‘socially excluded’ and are missing out on many life opportunities.

Do you feel that everyone everywhere should have access to computers and the Internet, regardless of location, need, competency, or ability to pay? If yes, who should provide the services and education and who should pick up the tab? If no, explain why not everyone needs access to the Internet.
