Is Cordelia a Christ figure? If she is, who is she redeeming and how would her life story mirror the journey of Christ in the world?

Shakespeare

1. Why does King Lear have three daughters and not three sons? Would this story be any different if Lear had three sons instead? More importantly, what is Shakespeare saying about the fundamental relationship between daughters and fathers in this play. Use examples from Goneril, Regan and Cordelia’s dialog in your answer.

Does it give you a new appreciation of how artists can use unconventional materials in their works? Does it engage the viewer in a new or unexpected way?

1. Introduce the work of art with the artist’s name, title , date it was created  and medium. You can also include dimensions and where the work is located, if known, but this is optional.
2. Include a thesis statement. Your thesis should provide a framework for your analysis and suggest your interpretation of the work and why it is a good representation of New Media. A  statement does not necessarily involve a statement of argument, but it should let the reader know how the artist’s formal choices affect the viewer’s understanding of the work’s content.
1. Your conclusion should briefly summarize your findings and relate back to the thesis statement you presented in your introduction; however, you should avoid simply repeating what you’ve already stated. You should include any new ideas, insights, or understandings you gained about the work through the analysis process.
2. For example, consider how your example affected your understanding of New Media. Does it give you a new appreciation of how artists can use unconventional materials in their works? Does it engage the viewer in a new or unexpected way? Does it provide social commentary, or suggest a break with conventional approaches to art and/or art-making?
3. Please don’t forget to include an image of the artwork you’re discussing in your paper!

Write a short paragraph noting how you used THREE elements and principles of art to express your visual message.

Select a social issue about which you are passionate and create a new original artwork designed to persuade someone to your way of thinking. You may address any issue in any media. You will not be judged on your opinions. This assignment will be assessed on how much thought went into using the visual modes of communication you have learned in this class to communicate your opinion. As always, you will not be graded on artistic ability but on how well you meet the requirements of the assignment and the effort and thought you exhibit toward its completion.

Turn in ONE word document with an inserted picture of your artwork and a short paragraph  that notes how you used THREE elements and/or principles of art – printed in BOLD.

Requirements List:

1) Your own original work of art should clearly promote one side of the issue.

2) Use your artwork to communicate WHY you believe what you do. Consider the issue from different points of view. Your audience should be broad, not just those that already agree with your point of view.

3) Write a short paragraph noting how you used THREE elements and/or principles of art to express your visual message.

4) Insert a picture of your artwork into this same Word or PDF document

5) Upload this ONE document – to upload click on the assignment name, scroll down to File Upload, and click Browse My Computer.
