PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Briefly recap to your audience why the organization had embarked on the change initiative to implement 5S.

2. Provide the background for your recommendations by describing:

the model,

the theoretical and

the conceptual issues associated with the change.

3. Describe your specific recommendations and the reason(s) why they are necessary. You may include examples of specific activities here as well. Include among the recommendations and/or activities how you will deal with resistance to change.

4. Include changes that are related to COVID-19. These can be safety issues, e.g., social distancing, masking, air ventilation, or vaccine policies. Or these can be temporary changes necessitated in 2020 by COVID-19, to become permanent features of the institution, e.g., hybrid activities, or allowing some people to work/participate from home a certain amount of time.

You could mention specific changes, or you could talk about a process or guideline that will be adapted as more and more people get vaccinated, or as case numbers in the community rise and fall. Please note a technical issue regarding vaccinations. In the USA COVID-19 vaccinations cannot be made a condition of employment or participation, because none of the COVID-19 vaccines yet have full formal FDA approval. They have emergency authorization. (Only vaccines that have full FDA approval can be mandated). Pfizer will probably get full approval this month. This could potentially make the issue of mandating a COVID-19 vaccine more complicated, as strictly only Pfizer may be mandated. * If you want to recommend vaccination of people in the organization under discussion, you will need to think of incentives rather than mandates.
