: This assignment will give you the opportunity to critically examine one of our required readings, and to research an idea or concept that goes beyond the reading itself. For your presentation you should:
1) Identify ONE main idea or concept in your assigned text.

Briefly cite a portion of the text where you found this idea or concept , and explain what it means in the context of the author’s argument. Do not summarise the text.
2) Find two contemporary examples that relate to the idea or concept you have identified. Give a brief backgrounder to the class in order to contextualize the examples, and then demonstrate the connection between your examples and the idea or concept. You may use popular media and/or academic sources for your research. At least two sources are required, but there is no limit to the amount of sources used.
3) Prepare a 2-3 page written summary of your presentation to submit via our e-class Turnitin assignment drop box. Your summary should include an account of the passage you cite, your assessment of its relevance in the text, your contemporary examples and account of their relevance, and a full bibliography of your sources.
