Freight Forwarding

This Assessment is designed to assess your knowledge and understanding of in order to fulfil the Assessment Criteria (AC) for Learning Outcome (LO) 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

In order to fulfil all the Learning Outcomes, produce an essay which covers the following:

LO1: Understand the importance of freight forwarding.

Assessment Criteria for LO1:

AC 1.1 Describe what is meant by freight forwarding (400 words)

AC 1.2 Explain the purpose of freight forwarding (400 words)

LO2: Understand how to identify the factors that influence freight forwarding

Assessment Criteria for LO3:

AC 2.1 Explain the suitability of key performance indicators (KPIs) used to measure freight forwarding within own organisation (400 words)

AC 2.1 Describe the freight forwarding policy used by own organisation (400 words)

AC 2.1 Explain the advantages of the policies identified in AC 2.1 to an organisation (400 words)

LO3: Understand the importance of appropriate infrastructure and equipment requirements for freight forwarding

Assessment Criteria for LO2:

AC 3.1 Explain three infrastructural requirements within freight forwarding and their importance (400 words)

AC 3.2 Explain three equipment requirements within freight forwarding and their importance (400 words)

LO 4: Understand the importance of monitoring and control in regard to freight forwarding

Assessment Criteria for LO 4:

AC 4.1 Explain the importance of monitoring performance in freight forwarding (400 words)

AC 4.2 Describe how to select the best technique to monitor performance in freight forwarding (400 words)

AC 4.3 Describe Describe the benefits of effective operational performance in relation to freight forwarding (400 words)

To satisfy all the Learning Outcomes you will need to meet all of the Assessment Criteria (AC) above. Next to each of the above Assessment Criteria, is the word count for that AC.

Ensure you answer each question under a subject heading i.e. AC1.1 should have a title of Assessment Criteria 1.1 with your answer written beneath. This needs to be repeated for each criteria (AC1.1, AC1.2, AC2.1…).

There is a requirement for evidence of research, this must be through the use of Harvard style referencing.
