Discuss hit the earth and rebounded hitting Hyacinthus in the face.
Hyacinth – a flower-clustered, spring-blooming perennial flower, whose name is derived from the Greek “ὑάκινθος” meaning “blue Larkspur flower” or “color purple”. In the story, “The Story of Apollo and Hyacinthus,” Apollo and a young boy, Hyacinthus were playing discus.
Apollo throws the discus far into the clouds, and Hyacinth eager for his turn runs to pick it up before it hits the ground. The discus hit the earth and rebounded hitting Hyacinthus in the face. Apollo tried to heal him with herbs, but the wound was far beyond repair and Hyacinthus succumbs to the injury. Apollo takes blame for Hyacinthus death, who out of guilt makes a vow that a new flower with the markings of a hero will show his grief .
