Approaches & Role of Human Resource Management
Compare and contrast traditional and strategic HR. In what types of organizations might traditional HR still be appropriate?
Traditional HR concentrates on the administrative tasks of pencil pushing and staff hiring. Outside of their specified
boundaries, the HRP has nothing to do. This basically implies that HR oversees the paperwork and menial responsibilities
that come with their job.
Strategic HR, on the other hand, is a different story. The HRP is entrusted with achieving results rather than performing chores as part of strategic HR. The four ways Urlich measured them in the book can be used to determine this.
