Explain the behavior being studied – what is the thing this study is looking at? What do we already know about this behavior or ability?
Make sure to pick a suggested theory in the file uploaded below. Also make sure to cite the sources correctly and DO NOT use a website as a source. Use a peer reviewed article or something of the sort, and cite accordingly in APA style. There are 3 different sections to categorize by, please do so according to the file uploaded, and make sure to respond to the 3 numbered questions shown at the end of each description of the section.
For the first section questions to respond to are, 1. Overview of the theory – what is the main point, what is some of the terminology used?
2. How does the theory deal with abilities at different ages and how does it account for change over time? That is, why are we talking about this as a theory of development ?
3. What is one positive aspect of the theory, or one thing the theory accounts for that is important and useful? What is one negative aspect of the theory, or one critique of the theory, something it doesn’t do or can’t account for? For section 2 the questions are, 1. Explain the behavior being studied – what is the thing this study is looking at? What do we already know about this behavior or ability?
2. Explain the study in detail. What is this specific study looking at? What is their hypothesis and what is their methodology? Give the independent and dependent variables.
3. Explain the findings. Discuss both the raw results , as well as the general findings and conclusion.
4. Create a take-home message and why these results are important and relevant for a) understanding the behavior at hand generally, and b) for development and the general population/outside this class. For the last and final section 3, the questions are, 1. Answer the question – does this theory explain the behavior/study? It does not matter which side you take as long as you support your answer. Do not argue for both sides – pick either yes or no.
