Identify an area for your project and begin to explore how it applies to your specific community. Use your current knowledge from living in or near the community to identify a potential area of interest and briefly discuss why you think that an upstream approach could be an effective way of addressing the issue.

Students should prepare a 2-3 page summary of why they chose their topic area and their ideas for developing a specific focus.
