Debate Plan Proforma (to be used to support you within the academic debate)
Your research plan should be no more than ONE sheet of double sided A4. At the end of your debate you must submit your research plan including a list of references to your lecturer.
Plan:
Tackling the research topics — which key sources are you going to use? — facts and figures to back up argument
Identify key points-looking at the pro’s and cons plus the theory of both sides of the argument from your stakeholder perspective
Outcome Based on your research findings – what are YOUR arguments for and against and how are you going to counter balance the arguments of others? Identify possible loopholes in the argument and how these can be ‘plugged’
How are you going to get your point across and how are you going to approach it? Point and counter point to plot out an argument. What do you anticipate is going to be the counter argument and how will you respond?
You must present your arguments using the pro forma template below:
Points (arguments for X) Counterpoints (anticipated Reply to response Theoretical underpinning Supporting evidence response from those arguing Y) (Reference)
